Day 7 - Leave-a Las Vegas!

I think I found the comfiest bed in the world - I literally had to drag myself out of it this morning.  There are 6 pillows on it - 6?!?! - I end up having to take 4 of them off each night... I think the maid has now realised this after 2 nights as she takes them off for us and gently places my cuddly panda (Lenny-Muffin) in the middle of the bed along with two foil-wrapped chocolates :)
Another HARD day relaxing by the pool.  How I forced myself to do it, I just don't know!  The most energetic thing I did was have my pic taken next to the worlds largest chocolate fountain (it has the Guinness Book of Records certificate to prove it).  It's an impressive 8 metres tall and circulates 2 tonnes of chocolate. It is situated in our hotel in a cute patisserie, it's like a small version of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory without the Oompah Loompahs!  If the chocolate fountain hadn't been behind glass I would have done an Augustus Gloop and drank it until I fell in it!

Batteries fully recharged from our two days sitting in the sun, tonight we headed off to the famous Caesar's Palace hotel which is situated next door to ours.  Not only are the hotels here humongous but so are the roads and junctions on which they sit, so much so that walkways have been built to join hotels as you can't cross some roads any other way!  This was the case to get us to Caesar's, once inside the impressive Roman lobby we had a wander about.

I'd like to say once you've seen inside one hotel you've seem them all but this is certainly not the case with Vegas hotels, each one is completely different from the next and more over the top it would seem.  I thought Caesar's had a wonderful charm to it, the interior did remind me of a cross between a fake Roman film set and a seventies porn film...not that I've seen one!  We had dinner in a gourmet steak restaurant, I ordered an 8oz and Oli a modest 16oz considering they went up to 30oz!!

We haven't been having desserts every night although it's so tempting but decided that as it's our last night in Vegas we'd have something special.  Caesar's has a fab place called Serendipity 3 (It's sister restaurant in NY features in the film Serendipity), it has a kitsch colourful decor and is right up my street - the gift shop boasts cute pink things/fake cupcakes and Hello Kitty - need I say more)!  Just like the film I ordered a blended frozen hot chocolate, basically a chocolate slushy with cream and sprinkles - totally yummy and I could have drank it until I was sick....don't worry I stopped myself and didn't finish it.

Oli ordered a mother of a sundae (that's my boy!) of cookie dough ice cream, hot fudge, complete with a giant cookie, whipped cream, sprinkles and of course a cherry on top - which I pinched:-)  In every restaurant we've been in, boxing up your leftovers is the done thing, and to Oli's relief the waiter spotted he hadn't eaten the giant gooey cookie so boxed it up...wonder what Oli will have for breakfast tomorrow?!
We had a bit of a walk around on the strip after eating all that, prob burned off 4 calories, the lights are amazing at night and we watched the impressive Bellagio fountains display to music:-)  Our steak tonight may have cost a bomb but you don't need to spend money when there is so much to see while walking around and look at...see Oli I saved us money tonight!!!

Early start tomorrow as we're leaving fabulous Las Vegas and are hitting the road again, we are driving through Flagstaff (featured in National Lampoon's Vacation) to get to Sedona which is supposed to be the most beautiful place in the US....what will Lulu's blog think - until tomorrow!!!

Frozen drinks two, cocktails 1, bottles of water..1000!
